Azerbaijan promotes travel opportunities at South Korea’s leading tourism fair PHOTO

08 June 2025 11:22

The Azerbaijan State Tourism Agency has announced that Azerbaijan is actively promoting its tourism potential at the Seoul International Travel Fair (SITF), one of South Korea’s premier tourism expos, being held in Seoul from June 5 to 8.

Azerbaijan’s participation is aimed at strengthening international cooperation, attracting Korean tourists, and showcasing its diverse travel offerings, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

Azerbaijan’s presence at SITF is organized by the Azerbaijan Tourism Board in partnership with Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) and five local travel organisations. The national stand offers visitors insights into the country's vibrant cultural heritage, traditional cuisine, and growing appeal in nature-based tourism. Special attention is being given to the Karabakh and East Zangezur regions, the tourism potential of which is being showcased through presentations and multimedia materials. The exhibit is also part of a broader awareness campaign aligned with Azerbaijan’s “Year of Constitution and Sovereignty.” Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to South Korea Ramin Hasanov visited the national stand, engaging with exhibitors and discussing opportunities to expand bilateral tourism ties.

The Korea World Travel Fair—also known as the Seoul International Travel Fair—one of flagship events has been held since 1986. In addition to this major exhibition, tourism fairs are regularly organised in major metropolitan areas such as Daegu-Gyeongbuk, Busan, and others, contributing to regional development and promoting local tourism.

With a 40-year legacy, the Seoul International Travel Fair is the largest international travel exhibition in Korea, bringing together representatives from over 40 countries to showcase their tourism resources and cultural heritage. It is the only international travel fair in Korea supported and attended by representatives of both domestic and international tourism organisations.
