Baku, Tehran push for faster development of transit corridors PHOTO
On May 18, Hikmet Hajiyev, Azerbaijani presidential aide, met with Ali Akbar Ahmadian, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, and Iranian president's advisor Mehdi Sanaei, in Tehran.
During the meeting, Hajiyev and Ahmadian emphasised the importance of accelerating the development of transport corridors and transit routes during their talks, Caliber.Az reports, citing Iranian media sources.
The parties also discussed issues related to regional security and economic cooperation.
Disclosing the details of a meeting with Sanaei, Hajiyev wrote on X: "We reviewed the current status of friendly bilateral ties between our countries and prospects for further advancement, as a follow up to the visit of President of Iran to Azerbaijan."
Notably, Hajiyev is on an official visit to Iran to participate in the Tehran Dialogue Forum, which is taking place on May 18-19.
