Azerbaijani FM updates Iraqi counterpart on post-conflict situation in South Caucasus
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein have held an expanded-format meeting, during which Bayramov provided updates on the post-conflict situation in South Caucasus, reconstruction, demining, and peace efforts.
“Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein of the Republic of Iraq had a meeting in an expanded format to discuss a wide range of opportunities for strengthening both bilateral and multilateral partnerships, with particular emphasis on key sectors such as the economy, trade, energy, transportation, and communications, science, culture, education, and tourism," Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry’s message on X.

"Broader regional and global developments were also reviewed, with both sides sharing perspectives on security matters of mutual interest. Minister Bayramov also informed about post-conflict regional situation, reconstruction, demining and peace efforts, as well as existing challenges in front of the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process,” the ministry wrote.
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov arrived in Iraq on an official visit and was formally welcomed by Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein.
The two counterparts held a tête-à-tête meeting in Baghdad.
