Azerbaijani army officers take part in NATO’s "Resolute Force – 2025" exercise Photo

A delegation from the Azerbaijani Army has taken part in NATO’s multinational command-staff exercise, "Resolute Force – 2025," held at the G.S. Rakovski National Defence College in Bulgaria.

Officers from the Military Administration Institute of Azerbaijan’s National Defence University represented the country alongside military personnel from Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania, North Macedonia, and Greece, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Defence Ministry of Azerbaijan.

The exercise focused on practising the military decision-making process and improving the command and control capabilities of commanders and their headquarters under operational conditions.

Azerbaijani officers completed their assigned tasks successfully, and at the conclusion of the exercise, participants were awarded certificates in recognition of their involvement.

In early 2025, NATO conducted Exercise Steadfast Dart 2025 (STDT25), marking the first large-scale deployment of its newly established Allied Reaction Force (ARF).

Held from February 10 to 21 across Romania, Bulgaria, and Greece, the exercise aimed to test NATO's rapid-response capabilities and reinforce its eastern flank in the face of evolving security threats.

Approximately 10,000 personnel from nine NATO member countries—Bulgaria, France, Greece, Italy, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Türkiye, and the United Kingdom—participated in the exercise. The deployment involved over 1,500 military vehicles, more than 20 aircraft, and 17 naval assets, including amphibious assault ships, frigates, and mine countermeasures vessels.

The exercise featured a range of operations, including amphibious landings, live-fire air operations, and multi-domain maneuvers, demonstrating NATO's enhanced interoperability and readiness.

The ARF, established in July 2024, is designed to provide NATO with a high-readiness, multi-domain force capable of rapid deployment within 10 days.

STDT25 served as a critical test of this force's ability to mobilize swiftly and effectively across diverse terrains and operational environments.
