Türkiye launches nationwide operation against cybercriminals, 171 suspects detained Video
Turkish authorities have carried out a large-scale operation across 16 provinces targeting individuals wanted for cybercrime offences, resulting in the detention of 171 suspects, the country’s Interior Minister announced.
According to a statement by Minister Ali Yerlikaya, the five-day operation focused on suspects involved in aggravated fraud, illegal betting, the dissemination of child sexual abuse material, aggravated theft, and unauthorised access to information systems, Caliber.Az reports.

Of the 171 individuals detained, 74 have been remanded in custody, while 15 are under judicial control, with proceedings ongoing for the remainder.
Authorities also seized unregistered firearms and a substantial amount of digital evidence during the raids.
Minister Yerlikaya highlighted that since the current government took office, assets totalling approximately 16.6 billion Turkish lira have been confiscated as part of the crackdown on cybercrime.
